Basic information of admissions at the study

Applicants submit electronic application form for the study programme they have chosen. The admissions procedure is launched when the application form is delivered to the UoD, or a faculty that runs the particular study programmes. The admissions criteria for study programmes realised by the faculty are approved by the Faculty Senate according to § 27, letter e) of the University Act. 

Information on the entrance examinations, admissions procedure, results of the admissions procedure, is published – according to § 1 to 3 of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports Decree no. 343/2002 of the Collection of Laws on procedures and conditions of university admissions procedure course publication, as subsequently amended by the Decree no. 276/2004 of the Collection of Laws – on the University official board and web site.

The admissions decision for a study programme run by the faculty is taken by the Dean of the faculty. The admissions decision for a study programme realized by the University of Defence is taken by the Rector. Applicants receive written admissions decision in 30 days after the admissions criteria are checked. Applicants have the right to inspect all their significant material concerning the admissions procedure. Applicants can ask for a review of the decision within 30 days after the decision was delivered to them. The request is to be submitted to the body which rendered the decision. Applicants who want to study Bachelor’s and Master’s study programmes must be secondary education or secondary vocational education graduates. Applicants who want to study follow up Master’s study programmes must be Bachelor’s study programme graduates. Applicants who want to study doctoral study programmes must be Master’s study programmes graduates.

Applicants (civilians) who want to study military full-time study programmes must meet the military service relationship criteria according to Act no. 221/1999 of the Collection of Laws on professional soldiers, as subsequently amended.
