Colonel Assoc. Prof. Ing. Petr Hrůza, Ph.D.

Curriculum vitae  ​

Born on 14 September 1969 in Znojmo, Petr Hrůza graduate at the Military High School in Nove Mesto nad Vahom (today Slovakia) from Computer Technology in 1988 and at the Military Academy “Antonin Zapotocky” from Automated Command – Electronic Computers field in 1995. He acquired the academic doctoral degree at the University of Defence in Troops Control and Engagement field in 2005. In 2018, he was conferred docent (associate professor) degree in “Military Management” field.

His academic career began in 1995 at the position of senior lecturer of the Information Systems group within the Communication Systems Management Department under the Command and Staff Faculty of the Brno Military Academy. Currently, he has been appointed the deputy head of Tactics Department under the Faculty of Military Leadership leading the Command and Control teaching group. From 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2020 he was the vice-dean for education and students issues at the Faculty of Military Leadership. Since 1 September 2020 he has been appointed the Vice-Rector for Education and Students Issues. He has led and guaranteed Bachelor and Master degree programmes for the University of Defence and contributed to the doctoral degree programmes. He has tutored final theses and led supporting teachers and researchers.

His teaching and research efforts focus on cyber security and defence, critical information infrastructure, and military information and communication systems. He has contributed to or led national and internal security projects for the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of the Interior, National Security Agency or Ministry of Transport. He has published the research outputs at international conferences and expert journals. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the University of Defence and the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Military Management, deputy chairman of the Boards of Economics and Management, Armed Forces Management and Engagement, and Security and Defence programmes. Also, he is a member of the state doctoral examination or doctoral thesis defence committees at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin and at the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. He has many years been a member of the state final examination committees at the Tomas Bata University’s Applied Informatics Faculty. Since 2013, he has been a member of the AFCEA Czech Chapter (director and programme secretary) earning multiple medals and decorations for his contributions.
