Curriculum vitae
Born on 23 December 1975 in Zlín, Marek Sedlacik graduated from J.A. Komensky Grammar School in Uherský Brod and then from the Brno Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science. He defended his doctoral thesis in General Mathematical Issues in 2006 at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science and the rigorous thesis on in Statistics and Data Analysis field at Masaryk University.
Since 2008, he has experienced fellowships at Institute of Statistics, Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria, at Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Malta, Malta, at National University of Public Service, Budapest, Hungary, at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland, at University of Maribor, Maribor, Slovenia, at University of Bundeswehr, Munich, Germany, and at the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, Vilnius, Lithuania.
He orients his research activities towards multidimensional statistical methods focused on classification techniques. He guarantees instructions and teaches for the accredited degree programmes and contributes to research projects within his specialisation.
He joint University of Defence in 2004, had acted the head of the Department of Econometrics since 2010, appointed vice-dean for studies and teaching of the Faculty of Military Leadership since 2014 and then from 2015 to 2020 vice-rector for education and students issues of the University of Defence. He has been appointed the head of the Department of Quantitative Methods within the Faculty of Military Leadership and also the vice-rector for education and students issues of the University of Defence since August 2024.
Assoc. professor Marek Sedlačík is married, father of three children.
