On Friday, Colonel General Staff Petr Hlavizna, Vice-Rector of the University of Defence for External Relations and Internationalization, awarded certificates to eighteen participants of the Codifier Course in the Knight’s Hall of the University of Defence Club. This course, constituting the second part of the codification training at NCS College, provides education for managers and specialists from NATO Codification System (NCS) member and partner nations. Since 2012, the training has been organized biennially in the Czech Republic, and over the years NCS College has established itself within the codification community as the largest national training institution of its kind worldwide. To date, it has trained and educated more than two hundred students from 33 countries across five continents.

Codification of items according to uniform principles, defined and consistently applied by NATO member and partner nations, is an essential element in ensuring logistic support in international operations and missions. In the Czech Republic, this activity is carried out by the Defence Standardization, Codification and Government Quality Assurance Authority through its Codification Department, which serves as the National Codification Bureau. The Authority has long been engaged in the organization of the international NATO Codification System College course under the auspices of the University of Defence in Brno, with the support of Aura, s.r.o., the supplier of codification software.
