On Thursday, 20 November, the University of Defence welcomed Brigadier General Didier Oustric, Head of the International Relations at the French Directorate of Higher Military Studies and Chairman of the European Higher Military Education Working Group – EU War Colleges Initiative.
During his visit, General Oustric met with the Rector-Commandant of the University of Defence, Brigadier General Jan Farlík, and representatives of CBVSS to present opportunities for implementing an educational module focused on European security and defence.
The European Higher Military Education – EU War Colleges Initiative, led by the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), seeks to bring together the war colleges of EU Member States to promote a common security and defence culture, share best practices, develop partnerships and common projects, and facilitate the exchange of trainers and trainees.
The initiative’s primary goal is to enable senior officers to adapt to the specificities and requirements of European defence. To support this, ESDC has developed a common consolidated module dedicated to the European Union, combining lectures and e‑learning. These teaching units entitle students to obtain the Sectorial Qualification Framework for Military Officers (SQF-MILOF) certification in European defence issues.
