Matriculation and graduation ceremony

The University of Defence follows the tradition of festive academic ceremonies of matriculation and graduation. The graduation ceremony of military graduates is preceded by a festive military ceremony – passing out.

Matriculation is a festive act of accepting the student in the academic community of the university. A student oath is a part of matriculation.

Graduation ceremony is a festive farewell to the University graduates. During this act students are awarded a University Diploma with the academic degree awarded and the diploma amendment. A student oath is a part of the ceremony.

Festive passing out of graduates is a festive military ceremony which traditionally takes place at Náměstí Svobody in centre of Brno attended by the Ministry of Defence and the city of Brno representatives, guests of honour and graduates‘ family members.
